Free Throws for Full Court Peace 2013
New Canaan, CT
Where: New Canaan High School Gymnasium
When: Sunday, January 20th, 3:00pm - 8:00pm

- Raise money for local middle and high school youth from Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Stamford.
- Practice your free-throws and challenge yourself to win.
- Win prizes and awards for your great performance.

How does it work?

New Canaan boys and girls (in grades 4-8 and in both the YMCA and NCBA programs) commit to shooting 100 free throws on January 20th.  Kids who are interested in participating should register at the bottom of this page.

Before January 20th, the participating boys and girls will ask their friends and family to be their sponsors for the free-throw event. Sponsors pledge any amount – .25 cents,  $1.00, or more – for every shot their shooter makes out of 100.

The boys and girls keep track of their sponsorships on their sponsorship sheet (click here to download).

At the event on January 20th, the boys and girls hand in their sponsorship sheets, and then step up to the line and shoot their free throws. (Sponsors are welcome attend the event.)

Full Court Peace volunteers will tally each set of 100 shots, recording how many shots were made, and how much each Free-Throw Shooter raised.

Full Court Peace representatives will contact the sponsors to notify them via email as to what their pledge means in terms of a total donation to Full Court Peace. Donations, which are tax deductible, can be made at www.fullcourtpeace.org; the organization also accepts checks.

Awards and Prizes:

The winners of the competition – the best fund raisers and best shooters in each age group for boys and girls separately – are awarded with valuable sports memorabilia, examples of which can be found here. Additional awards, such as Full Court Peace t-shirts and gifts from local retailers, will also serve as awards.
