FCP in the USA

Hey guys, this is Colin checking in again regarding the Full Court Peace integrated basketball program.

From the time our plane touched down at Newark International Airport, our two teams have been on the move, having a great time, meeting some great people, and playing lots of basketball. We arrived in New Hampshire the night of June 30th , where the guys met the families that would host them for the next ten days. I can't say enough about the kindness, generosity, and warmth of the families, as they have opened up their homes to our guys and made sure the guys had a tremendous experience. The relationships that have developed between the kids and the host families has been remarkable to see, relationships that have led a number of the parents to joke about adopting our guys! Our players have been out for countless barbeques, a day at Silver Lakes National Park, fishing, the movies, driving 4x4's, and a number of basketball games and training sessions.

Tonight, we continue our Summer League play with two games at Hanover High School. Though both teams were defeated handily during the first day of summer league competition, they competed very well, and earned the respect of their opponents and all the spectators. Indeed, the Bulldogs were able to stay within 9 points in their 2nd game, really taking the action to their adversaries in the 2nd half.

Tomorrow, we will have a morning shooting clinic followed by an assortment of activities around Hanover (location of Dartmouth University). It's been a great trip thus far, and check back in again in the following days for another update.
Also, check www.myspace.com/fullcourtpeacedocumentary for all the photos Marc Mulholland has taken over the duration of the trip. And before I forget, the guys made the front page of the Valley News Sports Page on Sunday, with a great article and assortment of photos describing what is happening with the program out here in New Hampshire. We'll bring some copies back with us to Belfast.

Until then

- Colin
